EDGE Certification

An innovation of the IFC, a member of the World Bank Group. A new design tool for buildings, a certification system, a global sustainable standard. EDGE enables the sustainable construction of affordable housing or luxury flats, hotels or resorts, office buildings, educational buildings, hospitals or shops.

To obtain an EDGE Certification the project must achieve at least 20% reduction of energy consumption, 20% reduction of water consumption and 20% reduction of embodied energy from materials.

Achieving greater savings increases the savings in the certification. The application will require the collection and detailing of information from the various stages of design and construction.
